Remember foursquare?

What?? I know, I basically just said, ‘remember fax machines’?
But that’s what these videos were for. Foursquare.

‘Odd Parlour’ was an internal project thought of at the lunch table one day. A few Mighty coworkers threw it together one afternoon back in Halloween 2011. The voiceover was a developer there. His name’s Ed.

Here’s how it worked: at select locations near the office, we left tips on foursquare. When people checked in to those locations, a tip presented a location-specific spooky poem left by a mysterious entity known only as ‘odd parlour.’

It was a fun time.

“Oh! Spooky!”

— Something maybe someone said

We made quite a few of these then attached them to places nearby as tips on foursquare.

YOGA

Twisted limbs in heaving piles
A flash of pain behind the smiles
Bodies bent beyond belief
Forever mangled, without relief

QUAD SPINNING

Below the ground their pedals spin
With every stroke, they grow their sin
A grinding cog, the pinch of pain
Send power to the Frankenbrain

DOG PARK

Your dog’s excited; he’s caught a smell
Something pungent, straight from hell
Now he’s digging up the ground
Stop him quick, before she’s found

CRITICAL MASS

At the risk of sounding analytical
The thing's condition appears quite critical
It’s less a man, more gory mass
I fear it may break through the glass
